A 449 Retry With error is a Microsoft extension to HTTP status codes indicating that the request should be retried after doing the appropriate action.
It is often used when a required parameter or header was omitted from a request, prompting the client to retry the request with the necessary parameters attached.
Determining why
The client attempted an operation on an IIS server without supplying all required fields. The server returns 449 to instruct the client software to prompt the user or append the missing parameters before retrying.
Steps you could possibly take:
- Complete all required form fields - Ensure no required parameters or selections were left blank.
- If you are developing against IIS / WebDAV APIs:
- Inspect the response body or headers for details regarding which parameter or header was missing.
- Supply the missing argument and retry the request.
