A Cloudflare Error 1012 indicates that your web request matched a custom security or firewall rule configured by the website owner in their Cloudflare dashboard.
Common causes
A website owner configured a custom Cloudflare security policy (such as a custom WAF expression, Country Block, or ASN restriction) that matched your incoming request and returned an explicit Access Denied response.
Resolution
If you are a visitor
- Provide the site administrator with the Ray ID and timestamp shown on the error screen so they can find the exact rule that blocked you in their firewall logs.
If you are the website owner
- Search your Cloudflare dashboard under Security > Events for the visitor’s Ray ID or IP address.
- Identify which custom WAF rule matched the request and update its criteria if legitimate users are being impacted.
